Realistic physics not so realistic after all… So it makes sense to stick with it if you want to succeed. This strategy has lasted until nowadays even though soldiers are now much better equipped. ![]() It all starts with footmen then comes the cavalry and finally archers take care of those who survived. If you ever watched movies about medieval wars, you probably know the system. This task will require a bit of tactical thinking. Now you have to arrange your troops on the piece of ground where the battle will take place. There will be all kinds of weapons at your disposal: Catapults, Cannons, Martyrs, Howitzers… Everything you need to stage a spectacular fight!īut that’s not all yet. As you proceed through levels, though, you’ll be able to unlock stronger units like Archers, Musketmen, Chariots and even heavy artillery. You’ll only have access to basic unit types, including Footmen, Spearmen and so on. At first, your funds will be pretty scarce and you won’t be able to afford a lot of warriors. So, what is this game? It challenges you to gather two armies and set them up against each other in a furious combat that will unfold on your screen based on the laws of realistic physics. But in Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, they all meet together on one battlefield! Thousands of years and even a couple of centuries ago, such level of military technologies was simply unimaginable. Alexander the Great and Napoleon would be stunned to see how fierce and deadly modern battles have become. ![]() Primitive spears and bows gave way to rifles and cannons while cavalry was eventually replaced with tanks and aviation. And as the mankind grew more and more technologically advanced, so did the art of war making. I’d definitely recommend checking out Totally Accurate Battle Simulator sometime-it’s a delightful little game that I really enjoyed.Wars have raged on since ancient times. The addition of a campaign mode is also a big plus in its favor, especially for someone like me who wants goals and things to do. It’s an entertaining sandbox that really caught my attention-you basically make a movie out of different fighters and then play it to see who wins. I don’t usually partake in sandbox games, but this one is a blast.ĭoes your child like sandbox games? Is your child interested in historical battles? This game is perfect for them. To my delight, I found myself having an insane amount of fun in the sandbox mode. I was delighted to find a ton of gameplay options in here, along with ways to adjust every single button of the controls. You can put unreal enemies like spooky ghosts and reapers. There’s a campaign mode, and a sandbox mode, which is nice for people like me who want goals. In this game, you put simulations of fighters from various periods, and they fight each other. But it’s all done to unrealistic human models, blue and red props who are stand-ins for real people. This is a game about battles, so there’s a fair bit of realistic violence. We shall see how totally accurate these battles are. Still, it’s defined enough and popular to warrant review, so let’s dive in. The game is in “Preview Mode,” which means it’s not fully complete yet, and still in early access. The mixed reviews weren’t enough to dissuade me from the cool premise, and now, I’m checking it out. I remember seeing early trailers on Steam and being amazed at how nuts you could make the battles. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s not my usual game.īut I have to admit, Totally Accurate Battle Simulator (aka TABS) really piqued my curiosity. I like having goals, things to aim toward, where sandboxes give you complete freedom to make your own fun.
